<INKLUSIONSANALYSE /> is an analytical module within the PTL systematics that takes as its starting point a question equally central to social practice and political philosophy: What exactly happens when someone is included—and what is lacking when this inclusion fails, even where it formally succeeds? The module does not simply ask whether inclusion takes place, but how it is structurally constituted, what sustains it, and at which tipping points well-intentioned measures turn into new, often less visible forms of exclusion.
The module’s diagnostic depth results from the insight that inclusion is not a simple state but a field of tension. This field is structured along three constitutive axes that are not merely added together but interwoven.
The first axis is directional diagnostics. Inclusion proceeds along eight different directions—from access and formal status through the reduction of suffering, flourishing, and agency to recognition, heterogeneity, and addressability. The methodological core of this axis lies not in describing these directions, but in identifying their shadow sides and tipping points. Every gain in inclusion along one direction may inadvertently undermine another—the so-called drift effect: Anyone who is reduced by overprotection (reduction of suffering) to a mere object of care is formally included yet existentially disempowered.
The second axis, contingent deontology, safeguards the normative assessment of these tipping dynamics against two symmetrical errors. It draws on C. D. Broad’s conceptual apparatus, first, to block the naturalistic fallacy: A phenomenological description of suffering—“feels powerless”—does not generate an ought by descriptive force alone. The module translates such findings into deontic vectors, known as Tendencies, which are ethically binding pro tanto, irrespective of the empirical outcome. Second, it prevents the converse error of rigid universal rules: The ultimately binding duty does not result from applying a rule, but from a situation-specific composition of competing vectors—as Resultant Fittingness. The moral validity of these judgments is secured by relational truthmakers such as power asymmetries or embodiment as viscosity: contingent in their scope of validity, yet categorically binding for a fixed parameter field.
The third axis, Status/Rights/Property vs. Existence, draws the distinction most fundamental to inclusion: institutional and legal status—rights, formal membership, addressability—is not the same as phenomenological existence—agency, the experience of control, resonance. Successful inclusion is formalized through Broad’s logic of the smallest sufficient condition: It requires status (S) and existence (E) as a conjunction. Where status exists without existence, the module diagnoses gentle heteronomy: The subject is formally “inside” but is rendered passive, in the Spinozist sense, by external causes—the subject’s affects are externally controlled and their agency withdrawn. This level is supplemented by a deconstruction of the ontology of property underlying every distribution of resources: Are goods treated as a pure right of exclusion (E_ex), as an inclusive needs-based override (E_in), or as a hybrid bundle of rights (E_hyb)—and does this treatment occur within an egalitarian arena of justification (politisch2), or is it naturalized as an inherent power of disposal (politisch1)?
The module’s most sensitive diagnostic point lies precisely at the intersection of these three axes: in uncovering gentle heteronomy—where inclusion subverts its own concept—and in identifying de-addressing, that form of exclusion without a perpetrator in which people are not excluded but simply not envisaged within the system.
